Back in the before times I said I'd run a Rumbleslam league. We've got a few more players available now than we did back then, so let's give it another go.

This is to cover how I'm intending to run the league and to find out who's interested.

We'll be using the 2nd edition Rumbleslam rules, available as a free download from here. Players need to choose which casino they'll be representing. This can be any of the casinos from the rulebook or one of the new additions (Il Ridotto, Moote Carlo or Diamond Oasis).

Teams are chosen using the standard rules and all options are available; superstars, tag teams (exhibition or traditional), endorsements and sponsorships, plus event cards at 50K each.

If you want to use the updated stat cards available for some of the teams from here you can, but you cannot mix old and new style cards in the same team. If you use any of the new cards, you have to use the new cards for every wrestler if available.

You're not restricted to just wrestlers from your casino but if you do stick to your own casino (plus free agents) you can make use of the free bonus sponsorship. Your team does not have to stay the same for every match, and there are no injuries or other consequences to keep track of.

Standard matches will be played to a value of 1 million Dosh (i.e. the same as most boxed teams). If the players agree, you can play a headline match with a higher value, there's no upper limit on match size so long as the players agree and think that they can get the match completed in time. This gives players an option to use more toys, but means that players who only have access to a basic team can still take part.

League ranking will be determined based on win/loss record. Also, if you win by eliminating all of your opponent's wrestlers this is called a sweep. The number of sweeps will be used as a tie-breaker if 2 or more players have the same record.

Each round, the current #1 ranked player (the champ) will fight the #2 (the #1 contender). The other match-ups wil be organised the same way, so #3 fights #4 and so on. This is flexible, so if you find yourself playing the same person multiple times we'll reorganise the match-ups. In the first round match-ups will be determined randomly. After the first round, match-ups will be announced in advance so everyone will know who they're playing this month.

If you can't make it to the club on the scheduled league night let us know. We'll either reschedule your match (with your opponent's agreement) or match you up with someone else who can't make it and reorganise things accordingly. If you can't make it and don't let us know, you forfeit the round and your opponent will get a different partner for this round.

If we have an odd number of players on any league night, one match will become a three-way.

Teams do not have to be painted, although we obviously reserve the right to mock anybody who can't manage to paint up 5 miniatures. If you don't have a team the club teams (orcs and humans) are available to borrow on a first come, first served basis. I also have plenty of miniatures that I'm happy to loan out, on the understanding that I get first dibs.

We should have plenty of rings available, depending on the number of players we may be short on tokens and/or dice. So if you have these available please say so.

Right then, who's interested?

I'm thinking probably February, but I assume timetables will be discussed at the AGM.
