Quote from: Daniel Phillips on December 18, 2012, 11:19:33 amA few thoughts on the club rules-Item 8.6.2 "If the Chairman is unable to resolve the disagreement, or if personally involved, the matter must be referred to a GCN Knight." I think it's better to keep things within the club where possible so I'd suggest changing this to "If the Chairman is unable to resolve the disagreement, or if personally involved, the matter must be referred to an uninvolved member of the committee, if this issue is still unresolved or if there isn't an uninvolved member of the committee then the matter must be referred to a GCN Knight."Should never be an issue but according to the table in item 9.2 the Chairman can only be suspended by a GCN official - I'd say the other 2 committee members if in agreement should have that authority? We need something in the code of conduct about the use of the forum and news group - just the basics no spam, no personal attacks, no flame wars etc. I think Rob wrote something that would do the job, can't find it though. In the past there has been occasions (very few I'm happy to say) where a club member has received a formal warning from the committee. This really should be recorded so when the line up of the committee changes the new committee know what, if anything, has been said & done before. Also it should be stated that if someone does get a formal warning and feels it is unjustified they have to right to appeal to an uninvolved committee member etc etc.
