Rumbleslam League

I've always said that I'd run a Rumbleslam league if somebody other than me bought a team. Well, someone has so here goes.

This is to cover how I'm intending to run the league and to find out who's interested.

We'll be using the new 2nd edition Rumbleslam rules and I'm intending to put on a few games to give people a chance to get used to the changes.

Players need to choose which casino they'll be representing. This can be any of the casinos from the rulebook or one of the new additions (Il Ridotto or Moote Carlo).

Teams can be chosen from any available wrestlers, plus rerolls at 25K and/or event cards at 50K. You're not restricted to just wrestlers from your casino but if you do stick to your own casino (plus free agents) you can make use of the sponsorship bonus. Your team does not have to stay the same for every match, and there are no injuries or other consequences to keep track of.

Standard matches will be played to a value of 1 million Dosh (i.e. the same as a boxed team). If both players agree, you can play a headline match with a value of 1.5 million Dosh. Superstars, event cards and rerolls are available in either size of match.

League ranking will be determined based on win/loss record. Also, if you win by eliminating all of your opponent's wrestlers this is called a sweep. The number of sweeps will be used as a tie-breaker if 2 or more players have the same record.

Each round, the current #1 ranked player (the champ) will fight the #2 (the #1 contender). The other match-ups wil be organised the same way, so #3 fights #4 and so on. This is flexible, so if you find yourself playing the same person multiple times we'll reorganise the match-ups. In the first round match-ups will be determined randomly.

If you can't make it to the club on the scheduled league night let us know. We'll either reschedule your match (with your opponent's agreement) or match you up with someone else who can't make it and reorganise things accordingly. If you can't make it and don't let us know, you forfeit the round and your opponent will get a different partner for this round.

Teams do not have to be painted, although we obviously reserve the right to mock anybody who can't manage to paint up 5 miniatures. If you don't have a team the club teams (orcs and humans) are available to borrow on a first come, first served basis.

Depending on the number of players we may be short on rings, tokens and/or dice. So if you have these, please let us know.

Right then, who's interested?

We're all in much the same boat, nobody's played the 2nd edition rules at all. There's participation games this week and next if you're interested.

I will double check what I'm doing. Might even be able to paint my team. Won't that be novel.

I refer you to the 'Dale Clause' in the league rules.

Might I then, if it is truly a Dale Clause, also recommend allowing teams comprised entirely of white paper circles ;)
