Title: Bloody Omaha
Post by: Mike Whitaker on April 16, 2019, 04:35:46 pm
Table requirements (6' x 2'5'):
Components:
Minimum staffing: 5 (German umpire, 3 x US player management, 1 x runner)
Pull-Up banner: yes
Support material: Various books
Rules: IABSM
Design: TFL/Rich Clarke
Scenery: Mike, AndyM
Storage: Mike's

Promo:

A recreation of the US landing on Easy Red sector of Omaha Beach on D-Day, inspired by the opening of "Saving Private Ryan" and the real-life struggles of the US 1st and 29th on D-Day. See if you can make it off the beach.

Note:

Staffing levels are for a show game - as an all day game (e.g. Posh Lard) with folks who know the style of the TFL rules, mostly just needs an umpire to run the Germans.

Appearances:

Operation Market Larden 2014
Festival of the Forties 2014
Salute 2019
Posh Lard 2019
The Other Partizan 2019

Work needed:

None of this is vital - the game can go out as is, but would be better...

- Robert Capa and Brig-Gen Cota figures need painting
- Need more beach obstacles
  - more ramps and hedgehogs
  - several of the mine stakes need re-basing
- Couple of boards need a little grass work to match the rest.
- Marsh area needs re-doing (water effect has large bubbles)
- Paint waves on beach boards
- Sherman DD's need retouching.
- 75mm bunkers need side blast walls on side facing sea.
- Each assault boat section should have 2 bazooka teams - still don't know why Rich left these out of the scenario
