Hello everyone

I am currently in the process of working out the details league rules for the blood bowl league, however the headline news is as follows.

The leagues 'regular' season will open the 1st of April and close on the 31st of October.  Playoffs will then take place in November and Final in December.  The league will be an open format.  Each team will be able to play as many games as they want/can fit in during this period.  The top 4 teams (this may increase dependent upon numbers) will then qualify for the playoffs.  This may sound unfair but it will encourage people to play as many games as possible whilst negating the risk from those players who drop out of the league part way through in terms of messing up the fixture list as there will be no fixture list.  Players will select opponents and arrange games amongst themselves providing the league commissioner with the results.  To qualify for playoffs you must play a minimum of 6 games (This is to reward those who play more games).  There will also be something called the 'Stunty Cup'.  This will be a playoff final between the two highest placed 'Stunty Teams' (Goblins, Ogres, Snotlings or Halflings).  This is to encourage players to select these teams as they usually are the lowest scoring.

I plan to consult with some of the more experienced blood bowl players and campaign organisers for further advice and work out the details of the league.  I don't need people to sign up at the moment as this will be arrange closer to 1st of April but if anyone who is interested could drop a post just so I can get a rough of numbers.  Between now and the start of the season I am happy to bring my blood bowl stuff to the club and ref games for people ho may be interested but who have never played before.  Just let me know.

Rules will be the current edition of blood bowl and the league rules, player skills and star players from the inaugural Blood Bowl Almanac.  I am going to have a think about if and how I can get copies of the relevant sections of the rules to people.

Hello Guys

The league season will open on the 1st of April and will run until October the 31st. I will post up the season rules this weekend.  I need a list of those who are intending to play and with what team before the league starts.

I just wanted to make you all are aware that having played a few games now on a Monday night it has been a bit pushed to complete a full game during a club night, particularly if playing someone new.  I am reluctant to introduce a turn time and in speaking to Dan the only way forward is for people to :

1. Agree to call and end the game at some point during the evening. Both players would have to agree!

and/Or

2. Be prepared to stop the game at an agreeable time and recommence and finish the game on a different night (eg stopping at half time or after a drive has ended).

I know the above are not great and a pain in the arse but we need to have games finished for the league to work.  I know that having to complete a game part way through on a different night may be difficult particularly if you have signed up for several campaigns but really I can’t think of any work around which would be fair to all teams and coaches. If this is something you don’t want to do or would find difficult then I understand if you decide not to enter the league but as I stressed before all games must come to a result and you get there is for you and your opponent to agree.

Hello Blood Bowl Coaches

I have made a couple of amendments to the league rules and updated them.

Changes that have been made are:

- The Swoop skill is allowed.  This allows for doom divers for goblin teams.
-I have stipulated that teams can play up to a maximum of 10 league games during the season.  Friendly games can also be played.
-Teams are to built by the team rosters at the back of the online rule book.  Certain experimental teams are prohibited as detailed.  I had previously made a mistake in signposting people only to the team of legends which did not include core teams such as humans, orcs, shaven etc oops!
-I have clarified that star coaches can be purchased.

Any questions please contact me.

Andy

Also if anyone can think of a really cool name for the league that would be great. Something thematic and fantasy orientated would be great where possible particularly if related to the Warhammer Oldworld.
